Dear Ones,

With the approach of our program year, there's plenty of opportunities to serve in this community coming up. Service is the expression of our faith that Jesus modeled for us, so finding the ways that suit your spiritual journey is always something to celebrate. Here's some ways you can serve right here at Trinity!

Our faithful Livestream operator, Myrrhianna, will be departing our employ after this Sunday to focus on the last year of her Master's degree. We would like to get a few more folks trained to run the livestream alongside the Sound Team. Could that be you? Training and a manual are provided! And thank you, Myrrhianna!
We have some special organizing/sorting/tidying projects we need help with: offices, file cabinets, etc. Could that be you?
We want to develop more newcomer resources to help folks feel welcomed at Trinity - would you like to be part of that brain trust and welcome team?
We'd like to create a resource page for families who are forming the faith of their youth at home. Would you like to do some research for us?

These are just a few things, but there's of course a million ways to serve and participate - let me know if you need to find your way but haven't yet! I look forward to drawing our community even closer to one another and to God as we serve this congregation and the world! Thank you, dear ones!

Con la llegada de nuestro año programático, se presentan muchas oportunidades para servir en esta comunidad. El servicio es la expresión de nuestra fe que Jesús nos enseñó, por lo que encontrar las formas que se adapten a tu camino espiritual es siempre algo que celebrar. ¡Aquí tienes algunas formas en las que puedes servir aquí mismo, en Trinity!

Nuestra fiel operadora de Livestream, Myrrhianna, dejará nuestro empleo después de este domingo para centrarse en el último año de su máster. Estas son solo algunas cosas, pero, por supuesto, hay un millón de formas de servir y participar. ¡Avísame si necesitas encontrar tu camino pero aún no lo has hecho! Guest Preacher THIS Sunday! We are thrilled to welcome Archbishop Jeremy Greaves of Brisbane, Australia, to our pulpit on Sunday, August 31 here at Trinity! Archbishop Greaves is making it a point to visit a variety of dioceses around the world wherein meaningful ministry is occurring and he’s chosen The Diocese of Arizona - we are delighted to get to know him.

Archbishop Greaves was elected the tenth Archbishop of Brisbane in August 2023 and was installed in December of that year. The Diocese of Brisbane covers an area of more than a half a million square kilometres, from Bundaberg in north central Queensland to Coolangatta on the New South Wales border and west to the borders of South Australia and the Northern Territory.

¡Estamos encantados de dar la bienvenida al arzobispo Jeremy Greaves, de Brisbane (Australia), a nuestro púlpito el domingo 31 de agosto aquí en Trinity! El arzobispo Greaves se ha propuesto visitar diversas diócesis de todo el mundo en las que se está llevando a cabo una labor pastoral significativa, y ha elegido la diócesis de Arizona. El arzobispo Greaves fue elegido décimo arzobispo de Brisbane en agosto de 2023 y tomó posesión de su cargo en diciembre de ese mismo año. It may not feel like it yet, but summer will soon be over! Time to greet old friends and forge new relationships as we begin our program year together.

Sunday service times return to 8am & 10am in English, 12pm in Spanish on September 7.
Children’s Chapel and Nursery return during the 10am service weekly on September 7.
Wednesday worship returns at 12:10pm weekly on September 10.

Straight from the Heart Art Shows is a non-profit that is a beacon of hope and transformation for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. This organization humanizes the stories of these individuals. Through these shows, the artists share their journeys and resilience. Ninety percent of the proceeds from art sales go directly to the artists. The funds play a vital role in helping them transition back into society, whether by covering basic hygiene needs while incarcerated or assisting with essential living expenses upon release.

WHEN: First Friday reception, September 5th, 6:00pm - 9:00 pm

and available September 2 - 24, from 9:30am - 2:30pm Mon - Thurs.

WHERE: Olney Gallery at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 100 W. Roosevelt.

Straight from the Heart Art Shows es una organización sin ánimo de lucro que supone un rayo de esperanza y transformación para personas encarceladas y exreclusas. Esta organización humaniza las historias de estas personas. A través de estas exposiciones, los artistas comparten sus trayectorias y su resiliencia. El noventa por ciento de los ingresos obtenidos por la venta de las obras de arte se destina directamente a los artistas. Estos fondos desempeñan un papel fundamental a la hora de ayudarles a reintegrarse en la sociedad, ya sea cubriendo sus necesidades básicas de higiene durante su encarcelamiento o ayudándoles con los gastos básicos de subsistencia tras su puesta en libertad.

Prayers of the People

Oración de los Fieles

We pray for peace,

for goodwill among nations, and for the well-being of all people. We pray for our President and for the Congress, the Cabinet, and the Supreme Court. We pray for justice and peace, particularly in Gaza, Iran, and in Ukraine.

We ask your prayers for the poor,

the sick, the hungry, the oppressed, and those in prison, particularly those who are being removed from this country without due process and those being removed in spite of being in legal immigration processes. We pray for all those who are afraid in these times.

We commend to your mercy all who have died, that your will for them may be fulfilled; and we pray that we may share with all your saints in your eternal kingdom.

We pray for: Surya, Jeff, Gloria, Jill, Kyle, and the Rodriguez Family.

We give thanks for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week.

Oremos para la paz,

por la buena voluntad de naciones, y para el bienestar de todos pueblos. Rezamos por nuestro Presidente y por el Congreso, el Gabinete y el Tribunal Supremo. Rezamos por la justicia y la paz, especialmente en Gaza, Iran, y Ucrania.

Pedimos tus oraciones para los con recursos limitados,
