Presented by Deputy Sean Heidman (A.K.A. "Officer Sean"), CCA SRO

Hello, CCA families! I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m your newly-appointed School Resource Officer, Deputy Sean Heidman, and I’ve been employed with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for the past nine years. Seven years ago, I joined DCSO’s Juvenile Unit and have since educated thousands of middle-school students throughout Douglas County through a safety-based curriculum called Y.E.S.S. (Youth Education and Safety in Schools). Originally from Ohio, I attended private schools as a child and went on to attain my BA and MA in Psychology, so I truly value education -- particularly the unique education that a special school like CCA can offer! I’m very excited to join your community, and I look forward to whatever God has in store for our new partnership.

The YESS Program was created over a decade ago, right here in Douglas County, to educate students on risky behaviors and safety. It is an evidence-based, 21st century curriculum focused on social-emotional learning and the "whys" behind many of the behaviors that put our youth at risk. This presentation will cover relationships and associated challenges with today's youth.

Reminder, these classes are intended for adults only as there will be content not suitable for children, there will be no childcare available so please plan accordingly.

Thank you!
