On December 3, 2021, the FOUR GEN Awards will spotlight people and groups working on diverse, needed solutions to environmental concerns. They are innovating, and sharing, ways to make a big difference for the Earth and all who live here!

The Awardees are “Visionaries, Wayshowers, and Doers” spanning multiple generations. You’ll get to hear their stories firsthand about what they are doing and why! And, very importantly, ways we can take their insights into our own lives and communities. Read about them below!

and Activist. Creator of the documentaries Hometown Habitat and Urban & Suburban Meadows. Champion for expanding and restoring native landscapes for biological diversity.
Gen X Awardee:
Lawrence E. Jones, PhD

Global Energy Futurist. VP of International Programs at Edison Electric Institute. Spearheading the expansion of universal access to clean energy, and growing EEI's programs to 90+ countries by launching global initiatives.
Millennial Awardee:
Chris Castro

Innovator, Future-Ready Cities. Senior Advisor to Orlando's Mayor, and Director of Sustainability and Resilience. Leading Orlando to be
a top 'future-ready' city by creating smart, resilient, sustainable and systems in balance with nature.
Gen Z Awardee:
Samir Chowdhury

Climate Justice Activist. Founder and leader of Youth Climate Action Team, Inc., a global climate justice nonprofit of 1500+ youth organizers in 22 countries. Also lecturer for empathy models of social change at universities and climate events.
Lifetime Achievement Awardee: Edward Saltzberg, PhD
Climate Educator, Sustainability Leader.
Leads the Professional Education Program at George Washington University’s Environmental and Energy Management Institute. His career encompasses having led energy and environmental analyses for government agencies, helping Native American Tribes to improve their well-being through resilient energy programs, and forming the Security and Sustainability Forum (SSF) to educate on societal impacts from the degradation of natural systems.
Regional Initiative for Circular Economy. In the Netherlands, Circulair Friesland is aiming to become the most circular region in Europe by 2025. Working across many sectors (agriculture, biomass, building, education, energy, food, mobility, plastic, and waste), they use each other’s skills, resources, knowledge to minimize waste
and emissions.
Ecological Infrastructure Solutions. The US Army Corps of Engineers’ Engineering With Nature (EWN®️) initiative uses nature-based solutions to reduce impacts derived from more frequent and severe, climate-based hazards. Their innovations simultaneously serve to sustain natural ecosystem functions and habitats while also expanding social benefits.

Alexa Stone, President of ecoPreserve

Alexa is the President of ecoPreserve based in Orlando,
Florida, which she founded in 2009, as a mission-driven, sustainability and resiliency company, that works with
local, state, and federal governments to reduce GHG emissions.

Their mission is simply, “To help humanity thrive in harmony with nature.”
Pre-Awards Social Hour plus "Green Wines"

The pre-awards Social Hour starts at 6 pm EST - with a "Green Wines" Virtual Tasting at 6:30! Thad Parsons, owner of the Crystal City Wine Shop, will present a virtual tasting that features three wines, and bitters for non- alcoholic drinks, on the intersection of sustainability and wine. Learn how sustainability is achieved via local production, environmental stewardship, organic and alternative practices, plus sustainable packaging.

Join us for a fun conversation and great examples of sustainable wines and bitters - which you can purchase ahead for your own live tasting at home!

Nathalie is our "Fun Energizer" for the Pre-awards Social Hour. She is the Chief Energizer of her own leadership development company and co-author of the international bestseller, Ignite your Leadership.
