February 2018
Note From Anne--

January is already behind us. I hope you had a chance to take in the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo. If not, you still have until February 3rd to check out all of the vendors and events. 60 years is a long time for an event to run! A lot of time and dedication is needed to make this happen. We are lucky to have this event for the Rapid City area.

As we head toward Spring there are lots of events that will need a special quilt or wall hanging, or just a table setting to freshen up the room. We hope you will consider us for your supplies and inspiration. We love to help put projects together and especially like it when our customers bring in the finished result for show and tell. Too often we just get to see the beginning stages but it is gratifying for us to see how it all came together.

Hope to see you February 17 at 10 am for Strip Club and please bring your Show and Tell!

Mrs. Bobbins is a weekly cartoon about the life of an opinionated quilting enthusiast, created by Julia Icenogle.

We have just received a delightful panel filled with her witty cartoons as well as a few coordinates for your next project. See them on the Fabric Page.

Just in case you have been dreaming of a cruise, we included the image at the left for a good laugh!. (Image courtesy of Julia Icenogle, mrsbobbins.com/blog.)
Lunch Box Quilts Trunk Show
We have a Lunch Box Quilts Trunk show for the month of February. If you are not familiar with Angie Steveson and her great designs, now is the time to get to know her. Her designs are for Machine Embroidery, but she does have a few now for regular applique. Stop in and be inspired with all of the fun designs she has to offer. We will be featuring some of her designs at the February Strip Club meeting.

Been Waiting/Wishing to Sew a Star Quilt?

Remember when Vi Colombe taught Star Quilt Classes for us several years ago? Recently Anne had a wonderful visit with her. She is fantastic!!! She said she is still teaching. Please give us some feedback if you are interested in a Star Quilt Class. Maybe we could get her to teach a class for us again if enough students are interested!!

The unique edge slots allow for trimming of the dog ears at the same time. No need to rotate fabric to realign.

Other uses include: square-up hour glass blocks, strip piecing of half-square triangles, strip-tube method of block construction and fussy cutting.

Clearance Corner

We have three H|CLASS™ 200S Sergers in stock. This model is going to be upgraded, and to make room for the new model we are discounting these sergers by $150.00 to a sale price of $449.00. This is a very handy small, user-friendly serger for those people who want a serger, but don"t want to invest a lot of money. And, of course, Owners Classes are free.

Also, we found while doing inventory that we have a few feet for the 905, 910 and 936 Serger. If you have one of these older work horse sergers, we have discounted these feet 50%. Come check them out.

Opportunities to Keep in Mind
2018 Row by Row Experience Begins in June
Row by Row Experience® began in 2011 with 20 quilt shops across New York State. Today thousands of stores across the US, Canada and Europe welcome travelers through their doors. The quilts created with those rows are stunning… and no two are alike! Although the quilt shops are organized by area, quilters have no borders. Travel, shop, collect patterns and add rows to your quilt from anywhere!

This year's theme is Row by Row: Sew Musical.

Read some of the amazing stories about the rowers (quilters) and Row by Row quilt shops around the world on the Row by Row Studio blog. Even Prince William received a row as a gift! More information at Row by Row.
