When the term BOOST is used as a noun, it signifies a  source of help or encouragement leading to increase or improvement. As a verb, it means to uplift, spur, encourage, help, inspire, stimulate, raise or elevate from a lower to a higher place or position. Mid-winter is definitely the time of year where we can benefit from a boost!

Here are 2 ways to get a BOOST through these mid-winter doldrums:

1. Boost from OUTSIDE
  • SKIN: wash your skin only once daily and then apply a mositurizing cream twice daily (instead of a lotion); exfoliate with a chemical exfoliant containing glycolic or retinoid acid, instead of a manual scrub
  • HAIR: wash your hair every other or every third day and use dry shampoo in between; use a moisturizing conditioner, instead of a clarifying one which can strip more of your hair's natural oils
  • NAILS: take a break from nail polish for a few weeks; apply olive oil to your nails and cuticles each night before bedtime and follow with a thick hand cream or ointment
2. Boost from WITHIN
