The Racks Are Looking Sparse!

Dear COC Supporters,

You are faithful to supply the needs of the COC for our community. The number of guests has increased to 40-50 each time we open our doors. That means an average of 500 or more people coming each month. With those numbers, our racks and shelves empty quickly.

Right now, our donation bins are almost empty which means we don't have a lot to give. Could you check your closets or storage to see if you have something you could donate to us. Many of you tell your friends or family and they donate as well. For example, we have had "friends of COC" sponsor drives at their schools, places of employment and clubs. Who are "your people"? Keep up the good work!

We are transitioning to spring clothing but knowing Colorado, we still have some cold (and hopefully snowy) days ahead. Together, we can make a difference for our community. As always, you can drop your donations at the COC or leave them in the bins at Generations Church and we'll bring them down to COC for you. Thank you.

This year, our Annual Festival will be held on Saturday, May 30th. This event is an opportunity for our clients and their families to enjoy family time at no charge. We are starting to prepare for the games and prizes that will be offered.

That's where we could use your help. Do you have a gently used bike or fan you'd like to donate? We will purchase other new household items that will be practical prizes for our families (i.e. laundry basket with detergent). If you would like to donate cash or shop for needed items, please contact us at cocgreeley@outlook.com. Type "Festival" in the subject line. Please leave your name and phone number so we can communicate the specific Festival needs with you.

Do you know how many verses in the Bible refer to helping the poor, being generous, serving or offering justice to our neighbors? So far, I have found 51 as I've written these updates! An AI search indicated the following. "About 2,000+ verses deal with poverty, justice, and caring for vulnerable people when all related themes are counted. Some studies looking strictly at words related to poverty and oppression find about 600+ verses referring to the poor or similar groups. The specific word 'poor' appears in about 185 verses. The word “justice” appears in about 314 verses." You can see the mandate. COC is one outlet.
