He was 100 years old. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. 

An accomplished gardener and designer, he was in charge of Emanuel voluntary gardening for many years and created the sculpture in honor of the Torah scrolls damaged in the 1990s fire. He was a member of The Emanuel for 61 years.

He and his wife were married 73 years ago at the Emanuel on Woodland Street.

He was the last to survive of five sisters and six brothers.

Due to the pandemic, a private graveside service w ill be held today at The Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery in Wethersfield. Shiva will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to The Garden Maintenance Fund at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, CT  06117.
