It's Already September...

The summer has flown by and we can't believe it! As we settle into our new home at the nonprofit building in Cap Hill, we're taking the time to make mindful decisions as we build out our new space. Families are moving through our programs, the kids are back in school, and one more family will be helped with rental assistance this month!

If you're wondering how the new space has been treating us, it's been a breath of fresh air! With this cleaner space and new canvas, you can tell families are feeling better. However, we're still missing some essentials like a toaster, a microwave, and more.

One mom got a job and one mom is moving into her new place with her son!

Cory and Andy are moving into their new apartment! After months of moving from church to church while dealing with injuries from her crash, Cory and Andy will have a place to call home. Now, Andy doesn't need to go to school via his computer. He can go to a school where he can build long-lasting friendships and stability, in person!

One of the moms in our shelter program got a new job! She can now start saving for a place as we work together on connecting her to housing.

The kids are back in school so the day site is much quieter during the day. However, the weekends are still bustling with playing kids running around the Daysite.

We Had a Resource Fair!

We invited families that we've assisted in the past to come and have a fun day at the park filled with resources! We gave away sleeping bags, new backpacks with supplies, diapers, and more.

The event included a raffle to win a cornhole game. Families had cookout food, snacks, and lots of conversations. This is how we build community and continue caring for our families.

Thanks to GAB (Guest Advisory Board) that's made up of past families we've served who volunteer to give back, and Jeri Apodaca, our Stabilization Advocate, for planning and executing the 2nd annual resource fair!
