We enjoyed interacting with so many of you at the online April DCCA Membership Meeting. We appreciated the presentation of the Mayor's budget and the budget items specific to Ward 2. We encourage you to learn more at the DC Budget Hearings.
There was also a helpful discussion with DC's Lead Arborist about the health and development of neighborhood trees, including the best ways to care for and support sidewalk tree boxes and who to contact for pruning and other tree health issues. An overview of DCDPR offered insight on the work being done in Stead Park, public space permitting and how to contact the city for information and action. We expect to hear soon about a public meeting on Stead Park, and respond to concerns that the planned construction of the new Community Center will encroach on the playing field.
We look forward to seeing members at the May meeting where we will share our annual year in review, hold elections for the DCCA Board along with our featured speaker. More information to come!
