Scholarship applications due 5/1

La Famiglia Scholarship Program of the Little Italy Lodge is accepting 2017-18 applications from high school students who will attend full-time at an accredited college or university. The fund, in place since 1999, has awarded over $137,000 in scholarships to young Italian-Americans.
Four $3,000 awards will be distributed.
The chief fundraising source for the program is

Promotion Center for Little Italy is looking for motivated people willing to donate time as a Little Italy Ambassador to help achieve our mission of promoting and raising awareness of Baltimore's Little Italy. Whether you can donate an hour a month or 20, consider joining our team!
Ambassadors will:
- consistently promote neighborhood events
- contribute to brainstorming, planning, and executing our programs (events, fundraising, communication)
- use your skills to help achieve our many goals

Knights of Columbus dedicates statue
The Saint Vincent Pallotti Council of the Knights of Columbus, of Saint Leo the Great Church in Little Italy, donated a statue of the founder of the Order, Father Michael J. McGivney, during Mass and ceremony March 26. Pictured left blessing the statue is Father Bernie Carman, pastor of Saint Leo's. The statue is the only one with a permanent place inside any church in Maryland. The Knights funded this project and Father Bernie graciously accepted the gift on behalf of the parish and community, in recognition of the Council's support.
