Neighborhood News September 2019
Thanks to your support...
Your support has led to a summer worth celebrating for many NCS clients. Check out the success of one Louis Nine house resident, Tyler, below and then catch up on Muray and Dawson's summers, plus see what Tihirah is up to on our website .
Tyler
In early July, Louis Nine House resident, Tyler, started an internship working as a Program Aide at  Harlem Children's Zone 's Peacemaker Program. Seeing his history of work with children at summer camps, the OPTIONS Vocational Coordinator referred him to HCZ. He loved the experience and the responsibilities that came with it and continued working for the program this fall. Congrats Tyler!

NextGen Innovation Award
NCS has launched a new initiative to stimulate creative solutions to the challenges of homelessness. The $5,000 NextGen Innovation Award supports the work of an emerging leader who is advancing new methods addressing issues related to homelessness in NYC.

Applications are due October 15th.

Picnic in the Park
Chance for Change clients celebrated Independence Day with a picnic in Central Park on July 5th. Individual and group therapy sessions are only one part of what we do at Chance for Change. Clients also have the opportunity to share meals, enjoy books, and relax in a substance free environment.

Summer at the NCS Residence
The tenants at the NCS Residence enjoyed the summer with holiday BBQs, a field day in Central Park, and some trivia to keep them sharp!

Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter recently switched email marketing service providers and some supporters who have unsubscribed may have been unknowingly added back onto our email list. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you'll continue to stay connected with us.
