DCCA Testifies on Scooter Chaos
As reported at the November membership meeting, DCCA has been active in encouraging the DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the DC Council to take sensible measures to ensure the safety of all users of our sidewalks and streets in light of hazards posed by the recently introduced dockless electric scooters.

In October, we submitted comments on DDOT’s “ Dockless Bike and Scooter Share 2020” programmatic changes, and on November 4 th, DCCA Board Member Marcy Logan testified before the DC Council’s hearing on “The Future of Micromobility in the District and B23-359.” Information on this hearing can be found here

What a Neighborhood!
DCCA's Board Member Phil Carney reflects on the 33rd Annual Dupont Circle Drag Race and shares his impressive photos that capture the unique spirit of our neighborhood event.

Dupont Circle's annual Halloween celebration was started by some tipsy drag queens on a pub crawl who decided to race in high heels to the next bar. Neighbors thought it was a great idea and our annual event now attracts hundreds of fabulous costumes, TV coverage, a booth by CW network, a horde of runners, politicians and thousands of spectators. Thanks to the Nats on their way to winning the World Series, attendance was down this year so the event was comfortably crowded instead of the usual uncomfortably crowded.

Many thanks go to race sponsors, MPD, volunteers and those who created fabulous costumes.
