The Future is here! Denveright plans will shape more inclusive, connected, healthy city

As you have likely heard by now, the citywide planning initiative Denveright released earlier this month drafts of the five plans that will guide Denver’s growth and its impact on development, parks, mobility options and more over the next 20 years.

The draft plans are the result of two years of community outreach and input from thousands of residents who called for a more inclusive, connected and healthy city. The plans will also serve as the foundation for neighborhood planning that will continue to happen across the city over the next decade and beyond.

Whether you are working on your area plan right now—in the Far Northeast , East Central and East areas—or using the neighborhood toolkits to prepare for your planning process, we encourage everyone to take the time to review the Denveright plans and weigh in.

Como es probable que haya escuchado, la iniciativa de planificación de la ciudad Denveright publicó a principios de este mes borradores de los cinco planes que guiarán el crecimiento de Denver y su impacto en el desarrollo, parques, opciones de movilidad y más en los próximos 20 años.

Los proyectos de planes son el resultado de dos años de alcance comunitario y aportes de miles de residentes que pidieron una ciudad más inclusiva, conectada y saludable. What's New in the Far Northeast Area Plan?

Take Survey on Draft Plan Strategies
Dozens of residents and stakeholders attended the fourth meeting of the Far Northeast Area Plan planning process July 12 and offered their comments on draft maps, recommendations and strategies for the issues that the community identified as key concerns earlier in the planning process.

Those who did not attend the meeting or who have additional feedback can share their thoughts by taking  an online survey  that replicates the exercises completed by meeting attendees.

As city planners along with the steering committees for the East and East Central areas continue to mine the data collected during the 2017 plan kick-off surveys, the planning team has been meeting with neighborhood groups and organizations throughout the planning area to continue to gather community input and offer an update on the planning process.

What's on the horizon
Throughout 2018, city planners have been working with the East and East Centra Area steering committees analyzing survey data, including the more than 10,000 comments received for both the East Central and East Area Plans. All that input is serving as the basis for draft vision statements for the East and East Central Area neighborhoods, as well as focus topics and geographic areas, guiding principles and map-based recommendations.

The community will have more opportunities to weigh in and give feedback on all of this. Check the plan pages in the coming months for more information as well as summary survey data, which will be posted soon.

About the Neighborhood Planning Initiative
Denver's  Neighborhood Planning Initiative is a new long-term commitment to ensure every corner of the city can enjoy the benefits of an area plan. Over the next 10 to 14 years, residents, neighborhood groups, and community leaders will work alongside the city's neighborhood planning team to create a vision and plan for their specific area.
