2019 VEThack Ruck March
The annual VEThack Ruck March to End Veteran Suicide will take place on Saturday, September 21. The NYPD approved event will form at Merchants' Gate and is scheduled to proceed up Central Park West to 62nd Street, west on 62nd Street to Amsterdam Avenue then north on Amsterdam and out of the district. The event will end at the 20th Precinct on 82nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam. This is considered a pass through event with minimal disruption to vehicular traffic and no street closures are expected. Click here for more information about the march. 
 Forum on the New York Health Act
On Monday, September 23, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, the Campaign for New York Health, and  Assembly Member Richard Gottfried will lead  a discussion of the current gaps in healthcare coverage and how the New York Health Act  and the national 'Medicare for All' plans would address health care access for all New York residents.  The forum will begin at 6:30pm and take place at Hartley House at 413 West 46th Street between Ninth & Tenth Avenues.  Bike Safety Workshop: Rules of the Road
City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Bike New York invite locals to kickoff year 2 of free bike classes with a class at Holy Apostles Church (296 9th Avenue) on Tuesday, September 24. This presentation and discussion will help locals better understand the rules of the road, such as how to avoid road hazards while biking, how to safely change lanes, and more. The class is free and will take place from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Click here to sign up
District Street Closures 9/28-9/29
Both West 68th Street between Broadway and Columbus Avenue and West 65th Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West will be closed Saturday, September 28 from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday, September 29 from 9:00am to 6:00pm to facilitate crane operations. Check DOT's weekend advisory alert for more information on closures.
