WELCOME! | August 2023

Soon the kids will be headed back to school here in Florida and late summer will turn into Fall before you know it. But summer isn't over yet and there are still lots of things to do, places to go, and foods to eat. For instance, how about trying some mustard Skittles on your next hot dog? Yep, it's a real thing. And here are some strange National Parks rules that you should be aware of when planning a visit. Or maybe take a trip to dive into the best FRESH water diving/snorkeling sites nationwide. Whatever the rest of summer holds for you, be sure to have fun making memories!

On another note, did you know that your personality depends on where you live? Neither did we until we read this article. Wherever you choose to live, we know that there are countless homes for countless people with countless means by which to buy or sell. But there is only one brokerage who understands the many faces of Vero Beach, who have laid the foundation for its diverse real estate landscape. AMAC's history is steeped within the community, quilted from a fabric of many faces, many lives, many minds, and hearts—all with the unified desire to make a difference.

Right now, shelters around the country are facing a post-pandemic crisis of overcrowding and underfunding. Due to the decline of virtual work, a national housing shortage, and the rising costs of supplies and vet care, we are facing the worst emergency the animal welfare system has seen in years.

Each day, H.A.L.O. receives surrender forms from pet owners who can no longer care for their animals and desperate pleas for help from overburdened shelters that have no more space. For the first time in years, euthanasia of dogs has increased instead of decreased in our country.

As a private no-kill rescue, they rely heavily on the pet-loving community to support their lifesaving programs and help keep their doors open for homeless pets.

HURRICANE SEASON is from June 1st to November 30th. Here are a couple of sites to help you GET READY and BE PREPARED!

Also, since the 2022 season tracking hurricanes has changed. Make sure you're aware and doing it right.

Despite cost-of-living challenges, the number of high-earning American households continues to grow. Guess what states the high earners are moving to most?

Okay, FOCUS. Here are 100 of the best optical illusions (with explanations). Fascinating!

Nearly 30 percent of American households comprise a single person, a record high. Scholars say living alone is not a trend so much as a transformation: Across much of the world, large numbers of people are living alone for the first time in recorded history. Be in the know on the pros and cons.
