Spring green, Kelly green, Emerald green...March is the month of green. As Spring blossoms and gardens bloom, did you know that there are beautiful flowers that bees can not use? Those interested in helping increase the bee population might want to take note when deciding what to plant.

There's a certain level of happiness surrounding Spring, too, with nature showing us her many colors, love is in the air, and we're finally coming out of our winter hibernation (at least up north). The consensus is that life is good and Americans are largely satisfied with their personal lives. 51% of those polled said they were "Very Satisfied" with their community as a place to live. Community is very important to us at Alex MacWilliam Real Estate. In 2022, the REALTORS® Association of Indian River County raised over $40,000 in charitable donations for Indian River Habitat for Humanity.

Since 1991, Indian River Habitat for Humanity has worked diligently toward breaking biases and empowering women in the hope of creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world.

At Indian River Habitat, 77% of the families served are female-headed households. Due to this majority, they place a special emphasis on equipping women, and their children, with the necessary tools to build brighter, safer communities while demolishing barriers and stereotypes along the way.

With your support, they can continue empowering women in our community to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through home for homebuyers.

So, here’s to strong women – may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

Statistics developed by the REALTORS^®Association of Indian River County through its Multiple Listing Service and in conjunction with Florida REALTORS^® reflect the following for Year Over Year JANUARY 2023 vs. 2022.

SINGLE-FAMILY DETACHED HOMES

Residential Closed Sales totaled 149 homes vs. 225 representing a 33.8% decrease YOY.

Median Price was $385,000 vs. $355,500 representing a 8.3% increase YOY.

Active Inventory totaled 841 vs. 358 representing a 134.9% increase YOY.

CONDOMINIUMS

Residential Closed Sales totaled 51 homes vs. 65 representing a 21.5% decrease YOY.

Median Price was $275,000 vs. $235,000 representing a 17% increase YOY.

Active Inventory totaled 340 vs. 82 representing a 314.6% increase YOY.
