July 2015                                                                                                                                         Issue #107
Hello Neighbor,

Well, there is no doubt Summer is here, and our South Florida heat can be a killer!   Please make sure you look, and remove all living things, before leaving the car.  You'll find lots of tips for summer safety on our website.

Speaking of summer, what better time to have a BBQ and celebrate Neighbors 4 Neighbors 23rd
year, by honoring 6 community heroes.

Join us at Bahia Cabana on July 25

th

from 7pm on.

Our honorees are:  Rene Lopez-Cantera, Charlie Caulkins, Danet Linares, Chad Moss, John Scinicariello, and Elaine Vasquez.

Tickets are $35 per person and include one hour complimentary cocktail hour, followed by a BBQ dinner.

See below for details and how to purchase tickets.

Before you know it, kids will be going back to school, and we want to make sure every child has the tools needed to succeed.  Many in our community live in unstable conditions, and Migrant camps.  Your donation of just $35.00 will provide a backpack filled with supplies, books and uniforms.

Sincerely,

Lynne Cameron

Executive Director

What a fantastic night this was!!

We raised just over $8,670, and for our first time hosting an event like this we couldn't be happier!

T
hank you to everyone to attended, your energy made this event a blast.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our Sponsors, the Hard Rock Cafe for hosting this event and making us feel like part of the Hard Rock family, and Florida Advocates for their unyielding generosity.

And lastly, we cannot thank our "Stars", Cynthia Demos, Rick Folbaum, John Gerard, Lisa Petrillo, Vanessa Borge, and Ted Scouten enough for lighting up the stage in honor of us!

Even though school doesn't start for another month and a half, Neighbors 4 Neighbors is already gearing up for the new school year!

In partnership with Children's Services Council of Broward, and the Kids 4 Kids Club, servicing Miami-Dade, we are working to make sure that all South Florida students go back to school with the supplies they need to start the school year for success.

Last year, the back-to-school drives delivered backpacks and supplies to nearly 5,000 kids. We need your help! Just $35 outfits a child for the entire year! Donate today!

Neighbors 4 Neighbors is a non-profit organization 501 (c) 3 originally created by CBS4 in 1992 in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. As South Florida recovered, CBS4 made a commitment to make Neighbors an integral part of its community service program.  Using the power of television to reach people who want to help and by forging relationships with important community and business leaders, Neighbors has evolved into a valuable resource for individuals and families in our community facing critical needs.
