Haywood County Devastation
Before we jump into the newsletter today, I need to share this with you. Some of you already know that areas in Haywood County were hit extra hard by strong winds and tons of flooding from Tropical Storm Fred that passed through last Tuesday. Sadly, there has been loss of life and extreme devastation.
My friend, Kim, who lives in Haywood County and is a quilter, set up a GOFUND me page for Quilters in Haywood County who were affected by the horrific storms last week. The devastation is tragic. Besides helping our fellow quilters, there are lots of other opportunities to reach out and help this community.

Here is a link to Kim's GOFUNDME page if you would like to contribute.

If you would like to contribute in other ways, here is a Facebook Page that provides lots of information and many other ways to help.
They're here! The long-awaited, much-anticipated All Carolinas Shop Hop Magazines are here! They are MARVELOUS! This beautiful publication was well worth the wait! It is FULL of free patterns, your All Carolinas Shop Hop Passport, lots of beautiful pictures, ads from all of the participating shops that includes contact information, and MUCH more! Here is a FAQ from Jen, one of the organizers of the hop, provided on Facebook.

Q: What will I be able to find in the magazine?
A: The magazine will include your passport for your Great Sewing Adventure Across The Carolinas. You will also find Regional Maps helping you plan your route as well as special Shop Hop store hours. You will find free patterns from local designers featuring the exclusive 2021 All Carolinas Shop Hop fabric line with beautiful photography showcasing their work. Don’t forget to peek at the list of longarm and retreat center resources because you’ll want them to help you finish your projects!! Industry related and fun articles are always a fan favorite and can be found as you browse the pages. The magazine will serve as a directory of stores all across the state and can be used YEAR ROUND as you are out meandering the roads of The Carolinas. (In fact, many of our participants purchase TWO copies - one for their sewing room and one for their car!) Did I mention prizes??? They will all be listed in the magazine as well.
Q: Besides the above, what other benefits does purchasing the magazine have?
A: ALL proceeds of the magazines go DIRECTLY to your local quilt shops. The passion behind our Shop Hop program is ensuring that brick and mortar shops thrive keeping this industry alive for sewing enthusiasts for generations to come. There is nothing quite the same as walking into a shop and being able to touch, see and even smell the fabric. We want our shops to earn back the investment they are putting into offering this adventure to you.
Q: When will magazines be available?
A: They were drop shipped from Wisconsin and hit our office in Iowa yesterday. They should hit your stores within a day or two. Maybe even today!!!!
Q: How do I get my hands on a copy (or two ;))
A: Magazines will be available at ALL participating stores! We recommend you call to make sure before heading out but then hop in your car and head directly to your local/favorite quilting store and grab your magazine!!!! The wait is finally over!!!!
Q: I am a planner! What if I am traveling in from out of state and can't make it to a local shop prior to the kick off of the event?
A: We've got you covered! Many of our shops will be happy to sell them online or mail you a copy. You will be able to find the FULL LIST of all participating shops on the All Carolinas Shop Hop.

Come by the shop to pick up your copy! We will also be glad to mail you a magazine. Call us at 828-349-8912 and we will get your magazine on the way to YOU!

THE FIRST EVER All Carolinas Shop Hop!
We even have our OWN fabric line!!!!!
The name is similar to our Carolina Shop Hop but this is a brand new event! The "All Carolinas Shop Hop" spans throughout all of North Carolina and South Carolina. We are SEW excited to add this fun event to our calendar! Here is a link to the new website where you can find more information.
One fabulous, fun, and friendly quilt shop business for sale! Sassy Stitches has been my heart for 5 years now. I have made lifelong friendships and learned so much from all of you. My goal was to have a bright, friendly place for quilters to gather and fellowship, sew, and have tons of fun. It is a happy place where we care about each other and learn together.

The craziness that began in 2020 in our nation caused us to close for 6 weeks and of course that had an impact on my business. As we reopened after that 6 weeks, business slowly but surely has been picking up! We are in the middle of our 2021 Carolina Shop Hop and business is booming! Over the last five years, we have grown our customer base and the numbers show a substantial increase in business from the previous owner.

The new owner of this business will be stepping into a nice setup! We have everything ready for the first ever "All Carolinas Shop Hop" coming up in October and November. Your customer base is established and solid. I will be available to the new owner(s) to help if the new owner(s) so desires. I might even want to teach a little!

This business gets into your heart and soul. The people! Oh my goodness the people. We have cried with widows, we have prayed with those facing illness, we have rejoiced for new babies, and we have loved on many of you as we share in your quilting adventures and personal lives. You have also loved on us and it has been one of the most rewarding times of my life.

Should you be interested in becoming the new owner of this awesome quilt shop, please respond to this email with your contact information. Please don't contact me unless you are seriously considering purchasing.

Until I sell the shop, there will be business as usual. We will carry on with classes, add some new ones, set up our clubs, and see what the future holds. I could never thank you enough for supporting me and the shop over the past 5 years. Please know that each and every one of you have touched my life and I will never forget it! I give God the glory for our success. I've experienced more fun and love than I could have ever imagined. It has been a great "next chapter" after teaching school for many years.
