Exclamation Point CMSReminderCMS Reminder about ownership/location changes
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reminds healthcare providers that in order to maintain eligibility to bill Medicare, changes to ownership, location, or final adverse legal actions must be reported to CMS within 30 days, and other changes to one's Provider Enrollment Information dossier must be reported online within 90 days.  To assist, they've collected in one place links to a relevant MLN-Matters article, the relevant section of federal law, an OIG report on compliance, and two how-to Provider Enrollment (PECOS) change tutorials.  View details.
FeaturedEducation2FACILITY-LED PATIENT EDUCATION TOPIC OF THE MONTH:
Grievance Process
We will be providing a Network 4 Patient Education Sheet each month in 2017. These documents are also located on our website. Please provide all of your patients with this education sheet this month.   Also, we ask that you please encourage your facility's Patient  Representatives to pass out this educational information as well.
NHSNreminderreminder: Nhsn healthcare personnel safety (hps) influenza vaccination summary data qip requirement
Data collection for the 2016/2017 flu season has begun. Please include the vaccination status of healthcare personnel who are/were physically present in the dialysis facility for at least one working day between October 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017. The data entry process is as follows:
  • Select Healthcare Personnel Safety Component (instead of Dialysis Component) on the NHSN landing page.
  • Enter one Monthly Reporting Plan and select "Influenza Vaccination Summary" (prerequisite to data entry).
Monthly updates are encouraged, although a single influenza vaccination summary report before May 15, 2017 meets the minimum QIP requirement. Recorded training webinars are available for viewing.
NHSNAnnualTrainingnhsn annual training
To fulfill the annual training requirement, at least one NHSN user at each facility must read the Dialysis Event Protocol and take the online Dialysis Event Surveillance Training after January 1, 2017 and before September 30, 2017. An issue has been identified in the tracking system and the CDC has notified Networks to inform users to postpone training until they receive a notification the tracking system issues have been resolved.
