June 2025

Congratulations to this Year's Learning & Reading Group Graduates!

Executive & Nonprofit Leader

Learning Groups

Class of 2025

This week, we proudly celebrated the completion of our six-month programs for both the Nonprofit Leaders Learning Group and the Executive Learning Group. These two cohorts, comprised of dedicated and passionate professionals, have spent the last half-year growing together, learning from one another, and strengthening their leadership in service to our community.

Throughout the program, participants shared that the consistent support from their peers and facilitators was a vital source of encouragement and clarity. Many spoke about how these relationships helped sustain them through some of the most demanding periods at their organizations, offering not only practical insight but also emotional resilience.

Next year's applications will be available this summer. If you are interested in joining the next group, join our interest list so you're the first to know when applications are live!

Leadership Reading Group

Class of 2025

Earlier this June, the ninth Leadership Reading Group wrapped up their ten-month journey together. Over the past year, the group gathered monthly over lunch to explore leadership through the lens of literature, discussing big ideas, deepening their understanding, and building strong connections along the way.

Though the formal program has come to a close, the experience has been so meaningful that the group has chosen to keep meeting. Their shared commitment to learning and growth continues, and we’re excited to see how their conversations and their leadership evolve from here.

Applications for the 10th cohort are open - apply today!

Prebys Foundation Launches $2 Million BRIDGE Initiative to Strengthen

San Diego's Nonprofit/Civic Sector

The Prebys Foundation is launching BRIDGE (Building Resilient, Inclusive, and Dynamic Grassroot Ecosystems), a $2 million initiative that will support nonprofit and civic leaders from across sectors working together to strengthen their organizations and communities.

BRIDGE will begin by investing in eight trusted community organizations chosen for their strong leadership, diverse focus areas, and the people they serve. Together they will help other nonprofits and civic groups build skills, strengthen their leadership and operations, and stay connected through training, wellness practices, advocacy, and shared learning, with the potential to grow this network over time. Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego is humbled and excited to be included in this initial cohort that includes Amplified Impact Partners, Chicano Federation, HOPE, LEAD San Diego, RISE San Diego, The Nonprofit Institute and Walking Shield.

Because of BRIDGE, we have extended our original Fieldstone Circle from six months to 12, and added a new Circle, which will start in September. Rooted in the Courage & Renewal approach, The Fieldstone Circle provides a safe space to pause, reflect, and find resilience in community. Each month, we gather to explore a leadership reflection tailored to foster grounding, insight, and encouragement

Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego is grateful to the Prebys Foundation for recognizing the value of investing in leadership. We are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the incredible organizations in the BRIDGE cohort to support San Diego at this critical time.

The Fieldstone Circle Extends

New Circle to Begin in September

The Fieldstone Circle was created in direct response to the needs of our community during turbulent times. Designed as a six-month program, The Circle offered a welcoming space for nonprofit leaders to come together, support one another, and reflect on themes such as community, grief, healing, and joy.

Over time, participants found exactly what they were seeking; connection, understanding, and a sense of belonging. The strength of the group and the depth of their shared experiences made it clear that this space is still very much needed.

In response, we’re pleased to share that The Fieldstone Circle has been extended for another six months. This extension is made possible as part of the BRIDGE Initiative, funded by the Prebys Foundation. The group will continue to gather monthly, holding space for rest, renewal, and reflection in a setting rooted in safety, compassion, and community.

The next Fieldstone Circle will begin on September 11th and is now accepting registrations. Use the button below to learn more and register.

Fieldstone Fieldtrips!

The Circle @ New Village Arts

After the kind offer from New Village Arts' Executive Director and Circle Member, Kristianne Kurner, some members of The Circle took a field trip up to Carlsbad to see The Mountaintop. The play focused on Martin Luther King Jr.'s final day, MLK's legacy, and what we can do to "pick up the baton" and continue to work toward the future MLK envisioned. It was a powerful experience.

Coaching Happy Hour

Some of this year's cohort of Fieldtone coachees met up for a happy hour catch up session to mark the half-way point of their program. While our coaching program is more focused on individual growth, this cohort took this initiative to layer in collaborate support for each other as well! The Fieldstone Network is built on the collaboration and reciprocity of our Network, and we are thrilled to see this cohort embody these values!

Clare Rose Sabbatical Orientation

We recently gathered with our newest Sabbatical recipients and their teams for orientation, marking the official beginning of their sabbatical journey. This kickoff is more than just a meeting—it’s the first step in a transformative process centered on rest, reflection, and renewal.

Over the coming months, these dedicated nonprofit leaders will begin shaping intentional plans for their time away. Their sabbaticals are designed not only to support personal well-being and prevent burnout, but to strengthen the leadership, resilience, and sustainability of the organizations they steward and the communities they serve. We’re honored to walk alongside them as they begin this important chapter.

Congratulations to Jen Nation and the Olivewood Gardens team and Ben McCue and the Outdoor Outreach team!
