Business After Hours Held September 30 at The Creek Pub & Grill! | | The Chatham Area Chamber held a Business After-Hours event on September 30th, at The Creek Pub & Grill, 1801 Jason Place, Chatham. Appetizers were available, as was the opportunity to check out the new "Creek Easy!" Attending events such as these is a great way for Chamber Members to connect with one another, meet fellow business owners and operators, and learn more about the local business community. | Thanks to Those Who Donated! | We appreciate our Chamber members, and community members, who took park in our Fall Blood Drive on September 24th, in partnership with ImpactLife. Volunteers are needed to help pick up trash along village streets and public green spaces! Coffee and donuts by Scoop Du Jour, and trash bags, courtesy of MASCO Packaging & Industrial Supply, will be provided. Even if you can only give an hour of your time, it will be time well spent helping friends and neighbors clean up our community and make a difference.
This is a great opportunity for students, scouts, and church groups to earn community project service hours.
Volunteers are reminded to bring gloves. Please wear bright colors and comfortable shoes.
For more information, please contact the Chamber at director@chatham-il-chamber.com.

The GHS Legacy Store is looking to incorporate local business owners and professionals into their program as guest speakers and possibly even a continuing contact for future questions and advice students might seek. They're looking for a variety of individuals or even a group of people who have experience in different types of businesses, people who specialize in specific fields like Marketing, Social Media, Merchandising, etc., and people who just have great general advice and wisdom to share with our future young professionals.
This could be structured as a series of guest speakers throughout the year or a day where a group comes to speak about their different experiences.
Contact Mary See at msee@bcsd5.org for more information on how you can partner to help with this great initiative!

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Birth to Five Illinois: Region 51 partnered with StarNet Regions I & III and Community Child Care Connection to provide Pyramid Model Training for local child care directors. Nine local child care directors attended and gained practical strategies to support children’s social-emotional development. Directors will take this knowledge back to their programs to strengthen classroom practices, support their teaching teams, and create environments that promote positive social-emotional development for young children.
This training was part of Birth to Five Illinois: Region 51’s Early Childhood Mental and Behavioral Health Recommendations, focused on increasing awareness of social-emotional trainings and resources available to early childhood professionals. Completing this training opportunity allows our Councils to close this recommendation while continuing to connect local early childhood professionals with training, tools, and resources that support their work, as well as resources they can share with the young children and families they serve.
This effort is part of Region 51’s ongoing work to increase access to social-emotional resources for Early Childhood professionals, young children, and families. Learn more about our Social-Emotional Tool Kits and the resources available through Birth to Five Illinois: Region 51 on our website.
