Visit UCNS During AAN Annual Meeting In San Diego

We look forward to meeting you! Take advantage of the following opportunities to meet with UCNS staff representatives at the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA:


Exhibit Booth - Stop by UCNS booth #611 during exhibit hours to get information on UCNS certificationcontinuous certificationaccreditation, and meet the staff. Todd Bulson, Amanda Carpenter, and Brenda Riggott will be available to answer questions during exhibit hours and look forward to meeting attendees in person.


Faculty & Trainee Reception - On Monday, April 7th from 6-8 pm, UCNS will have representatives available at the Faculty & Trainee Reception to answer questions and provide information about UCNS-accredited fellowship programs. Residents can explore the 244 available neurologic subspecialty fellowship opportunities and faculty and program directors can get information on how to accredit their subspecialty training programs.

Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology Certification Exam Application Deadline Extended

There is still time to apply for the 2025 UCNS Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology Certification Examination. The application deadline has been extended to April 15. Applications will be accepted between April 16-May 1 with an additional $500 extended deadline fee.

Neurologic Subspecialty Growth Trends Revealed in Annual Updates


Find out the most recent UCNS accreditation and certification statistics and trends for UCNS-accredited fellowship training programs and UCNS certification in the 2024 UCNS Neurologic Subspecialty Updates and 2023-2024 UCNS Accreditation Report.


As of year-end 2024, the UCNS has 3,339 certified diplomates and 245 accredited training programs in ten neurologic subspecialty areas including Autonomic Disorders, Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology, Geriatric Neurology, Headache Medicine, Interventional Neurology, Neonatal Neurocritical Care, Neurocritical Care, Neuroimaging, and Neuro-oncology.


Important Dates & Deadlines


April 15: Deadline for Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology Certification Exam applications

April 6-9: UCNS exhibits at 2025 AAN Annual Meeting, San Diego, CA

May 1: Extended deadline for Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology Certification Exam applications ($500 fee applies)

May 1: Deadline for Neuro-oncology and Neurocritical Care certification exam applications.

May 15: Extended deadline for Neuro-oncology and Neurocritical Care certification exam applications ($500 fee applies)

July 31: Fellowship program accreditation applications due for fall review cycle
