International visit

Peking Union Medical College and Peking Union Medical College Hospital's medical education delegation visited Westchester Medical Center on May 28, 2023. Jin Li, M.D., PhD, associate professor of neurology, NYMC and section chief, neuromuscular disorders, WMC, hosted the delegation and facilitated the visit.

 

The delegation was led by Dr. Ma Chao, director, department of medical education, PUMC and Dr. Li Yue, deputy director, department of medical education, PUMCH. The delegation spent half a day at WMC. They had productive discussion on the topics of residency training programs with Fred Bierman, M.D., DIO and director of GME office, Dr. Leanne Forman, M.D., program director of Internal Medicine residency program and Jorge Con, M.D., program director of Surgery residency program. The delegation expressed interest in further collaboration including exchange programs in both graduate and postgraduate levels.


Peking Union Medical College is one of the most prestigious medical schools. It was initially founded in 1906 by the Rockefeller Foundation. Peking Union Medical College Hospital is considered the best hospital in China. PUMC and PUMCH are major driving forces of China’s medical education reform. Last week the PUMC delegation visited Columbia Medical School and NYU Medical School as well.

Recognize autoimmune movement disorders.

Review the spectrum of autoimmune movement phenotypes. Evaluate and treat a patient with a suspected autoimmune movement disorder.
