Jordi Kleiner, PhD, BCET, is the director of the North Shore Learning Clinic, located in Evanston, Illinois. In addition to collaborating with his talented team of diagnosticians and educational specialists, Dr. Kleiner conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults thought to have learning disabilities. He also provides individualized educational therapy to those struggling with learning disabilities, language disorders, and attention disorders. Dr. Kleiner’s ability to advocate for children and their families in school settings emerges from his own classroom experience teaching all ages of children from preschool through graduate school (Northwestern and DePaul Universities). He enjoys collaborating closely with schools in the Chicagoland area, such as Wolcott.
Dr. Kleiner received his B.A. in Psychology and Education from Swarthmore College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Learning Disabilities and Language & Cognition from Northwestern University. His research has examined how children are more successful at learning when their parents have a solid understanding of their children’s skill levels. He is a board certified educational therapist, accredited by the Association of Educational Therapists.
Dr. Kleiner has presented at numerous national conferences on the intersection of diagnosis and intervention in the learning lives of children and adults. When not teaching or learning from clients and clinicians, you might find him playing violin/fiddle in Chicago bands, nordic skiing or kayaking with his wife Nicole, or possibly being pounced on by his cat, Winnie.
