New Scale News
Laboratory Automation Edition

Are you working with silicon neural probes?  Then you really must see the Multi-Probe Micromanipulator (MPM) System! Here's where to find us at Neuroscience 2019.
  • Neuropixels - booth 2037. See the MPM System, and catch a demonstration of our new Virtual Coordinate System (VCS) software presented by Josh Siegle of the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Stop by the Neuropixels or New Scale Tech booth to pick up a "Meet the Neuroscientist" schedule for times.
  • NeuroNexus - both 343. See the MPM System in its "inverted" configuration.
  • Cambridge Neurotech - booth 1669. See a partial MPM System in its "upright" configuration.
  •  And of course New Scale Technologies - booth 853.  See a multi-arm MPM set-up in "inverted" configuration, including a demonstration of our VCS software.
Pressed for time at the meeting? We can schedule your demonstration in advance.  Email Heidi Quinlivan or call 585 924 4450 x134 today.
Virtual coordinate software makes it even easier to position multiple probes with the
MPM System

Our new Virtual Coordinate System (VCS) software (now in beta testing) simplifies probe positioning with the Multi-Probe Micromanipulator (MPM) System.

Enter the probe angle and displacement to automatically register probes to a 2D image or a 3D reference space using stereotactic coordinates.
The software automatically calculates the approach angle of each probe, and the MPM Multi-Probe Micromanipulator moves each probe independently within this global space.

Use the simulation mode to plan and visualize probe positions and approach angles, and check for potential probe interference. The new software makes the MPM System even more powerful for neural recording. You spend less time calculating angles and more time recording.

The Multi-Probe Micromanipulator (MPM)
The only system designed specifically for silicon neural probes
The Multi-Probe Micromanipulator (MPM) is the first manipulator designed specifically for silicon neural probes. Simple to set up and operate, it provides convenient, automated positioning of multiple neural probes including those from Neuropixels, NeuroNexus, and Cambridge Neurotech

The compact design allows for independent positioning of multiple probes in the smallest space, with ample clear area for a virtual task environment. The new Virtual Coordinate System (VCS) software - see above - further simplifies probe positioning.
