Nevada only state in US with all counties at ‘low’ COVID levels

COVID-19 in Clark County and the entire state has plummeted to low levels, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as hospitalizations and reported new cases declined for the sixth straight week.


Last week, Clark County’s levels were designated as medium and the week before that as high. When levels are high, the CDC recommends that everyone wear a mask in public indoor spaces.


When a community is at low levels, the agency recommends that people get tested if they have symptoms and stay up-to-date on vaccinations.

CDC director announces agency overhaul, says it must ‘do better’ after COVID-19 review

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) DirectorRochelle Walensky said Wednesday that the agency “did not reliably meet expectations” and would overhaul its operations after an external review found shortcomings in the COVID-19 response.


The review, begun in April, comes after the CDC faced heavy criticism for its stumbles both in the early days of the pandemic and more recently, with critics pointing to confusing guidance and slow responses.

Nevada’s Susie Lee is one of two House Representatives introducing a bill to enhance mental health training.


Lee, a Democrat, and Pennsylvania Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican, announced the introduction of the Expanding Access to Mental Health Training Act.

Nevada Medicaid Rate Review Survey

Dear Provider,
It’s that time again for the quadrennial Medicaid rate review process! The purpose of this review is to help the Division assess whether certain Medicaid provider reimbursement rates accurately reflect the actual cost of providing a service or item as provided under NRS 422.2704. In some cases, a rate review may warrant a recommendation by the Division to the Director for an increase in reimbursement for certain providers.
We need your help to make sure that we have the information needed to complete this review. Provider Types listed below should immediately complete the survey.
The deadline is September 16th.
