THIS TIME OF YEAR
National Take a Walk in the Park Day is observed this Tuesday to encourage people to get out and stretch their legs on their favorite trail or neighborhood park. It's an excellent way to wind down after a long day and reenergize. The Upper East Side of Texas has an abundant supply of beautiful parks with our backdrop of forests, creeks, and lakes. Check out a few of them in Sulphur Springs in this article from the County Line archives.
ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT
Sequestered Songwriters Concert Series
A group of (mostly) Texas singer songwriters got organized early on in the Pandemic Pause last year to bring music to their fans every Monday night. They are still going strong. Each week they pick a songwriter like Cindy Walker or famous performers and about 30 of them sing their favorites. They've covered Johnny Cash, the Beatles, Tom Petty, Jerry Jeff Walker, Linda Ronstadt, Elvis Presley, Bonnie Raitt, Carol King, and Elton John to name a few. Catch their stream starting at 6 p.m. every Monday from their Facebook page. Donations are appreciated and go to musicians as emergency needs arise.
