JAG Nevada: 4 Things to Know

1. JAG Nevada Students Send Letters to Parkland Survivors
Moved by the recent shootings in Parkland Florida, and the response of students affected by the tragedy, JAG Nevada students wrote letters to offer their support to the survivors. JAG Nevada students care about others, and have developed their leadership skills to the point where they know they can make a difference, if only to help survivors feel better.
2. JAG Student Jimmy Tarelo Elected to Student Safety Task Force
JAG Western student, Jimmy Tarelo was selected as a student representative on the Nevada School Safety Task Force by Governor Brian Sandoval . The Task Force is charged with developing a plan to to ensure the safety of Nevada's schoolchildren. Student representation on the Task-Force is vital, as students are most affected by school violence. A plan will be presented to Governor Sandoval in August, 2018. We are proud of Jimmy, and are excited that he not only represents JAG students but all Nevada high school students.
3. Leadership Las Vegas Plans Service Project to Help JAG Students

Leadership Las Vegas is comprised of Southern Nevada's best and brightest leaders, so we were delighted when the class selected JAG Nevada as the focus of their class service project. The project focuses on four key prongs: 1.) Scholarships for JAG students, 2.) Database enhancements, 3.) Branding, and 4.) Internships for JAG students. We will provide updates on the project as it unfolds. JAG Nevada salutes this Leadership Las Vegas class a well as Liberty Leavitt, JAG Board member and LLV alum for connecting us with this dynamic team of leaders!
