Newark Thrives Re-imagined
UWGN-Newark Thrives officially launches this Spring with a new staff, a new website, and plans to connect parents, students, and out-of-school time providers from around the Greater Newark area. Justin Artenent, Newark Thrive's senior manager has planned a series of roundtable discussions to support and broaden the network of agencies that provide after-school and summer programming. Sarah Cruz, Quality Advisor
NJSACC: The Statewide Network for NJ's Afterschool Communities provided insight into the role Newark Thrives will play in the community, "There are a wide variety of Out of School Time (OST) programs for all ages, all throughout the year in the City of Newark. By coordinating the providers of these programs, Newark Thrives can ensure that families and schools are aware of all of these options. Newark Thrives is key to ensuring every young person in the City has access to expanded learning opportunities. Newark Thrives is also primed to bring the Newark OST providers together to support their needs, linking them to resources, schools, professional development, and funding opportunities."
