ECG Toolkit for HS Sports Evaluations

The Florida Academy is pleased to release the FAFP ECG Toolkit developed to provide resources and support family physicians in navigating the new 2026 requirement for high school athletes to receive an electrocardiogram (ECG) as part of their preparticipation exam (PPE). The toolkit focuses on the following three distinct sections: 1) Clinical Decision-Making Flowchart, 2) FAQs, and 3) FHSAA Forms Comparison Table. The FAFP has worked hard with the stakeholders to implement this new requirement governed by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA).

CLICK HERE to access the toolkit and learn more about how to best care for your high school student athletes going into the 2026-27 school year.

Thank you for Attending the Ignite: 2026 Spring Forum

Thank you to all 500+ attendees of the inaugural Ignite: 2026 FAFP Family Medicine Spring Forum, hosted from April 17-19 at the Hilton Orlando. Your participation contributed to the FAFP's goal of Sparking the Future of Family Medicine.

Whether you attended in-person or virtually, we hope that the learning experience was as enjoyable and worthwhile for you as it was for FAFP leadership and staff.

As a reminder, if you have not done so alreadyplease claim your CME credits by completing and submitting your evaluation no later than June 19, 2026. CME credits earned from the meeting will be reported to AAFP and CE Broker within 30 days, provided you have completed and successfully submitted the evaluation. Please do not report your credits to AAFP/CEBroker as this delays the process in proper reporting to the state.
