Mark Your Calendar - Community 4th of July Parade

Tuesday, July 4th, begins at 11:00 am

Our annual 4th of July Parade steps off at 11 am. Line-up at 10:30 on Paddington Circle at the Bremerton Cottages sign (corner of Paddington and Piper Way).

Break out the bunting and start your engine! If you have an antique car, sports car, truck, tractor, mower, golf cart, scooter, bike -- anything at all that rolls -- join the parade!

Also in the parade will be horses and riders from the Equestrian Center (Colby's Crew), antique cars, and fire trucks from the Rivanna Volunteer Fire Department. All that's missing is you!

Can't march, no problem. A parade is not a parade without spectators - get out those folding chairs, set up a brunch tail-gate somewhere along the parade route (see map), invite your neighbors and join the fun.

Prizes for best 2- and 4-wheeled vehicles, best costume, both human and dog, and most patriotic will be awarded

A Kona Ice Truck will serve snow cones to all after the parade. Prizes and snow cones provided by The Club at Glenmore.

and thank you, Ruth!

FYI: Our annual 4th of July Parade doesn't just magically happen. For the past 28 years, Ruth Sullivan has been the driving force behind this fun community event. You'll find her at the parade again this year, making sure things go smoothly.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

School's out and there's lots of traffic, both people and vehicles, going to and from the Club. Residents are enjoying the walking paths and there are lots of young people on bikes, scooters and skateboards.

Golf Cart owners are reminded that only licensed drivers may operate golf carts on Glenmore Streets. Please do not allow your child who does not have a learner's permit to drive your cart, even if you are in the passenger seat.

And EV drivers, make sure that pedestrians and other vehicles are aware of your presence.

Let's all have a safe Summer!
