Trail and Walking Path Maintenance

Attention: Walking Path and Trail Users

The Common Area Review Board (CARB) needs your assistance as you walk the Paths and Trails of Glenmore. In particular, please feel at liberty to remove from the trails any fallen, manageable, tree limbs and move them into the adjacent woods.

Our paths and trails could also use your assistance with controlling vines and brambles that threaten to overwhelm our beautiful trees and invade our trails. On you next walk, carry a pair of hand clippers and cut growing vines and briars, preferably as near as possible to their root-base. (A simple cut or break is usually enough to kill a growing vine). Please do not pull the vine as it can damage the tree.

And while you’re out there, picking up any garbage that you might come across

would, of course, be most helpful!

If you encounter any obstructions which are too difficult to deal with, please contact one of members of the Committee, by phone or email:

Just a little, just a little, just a little Respect…R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Our Community continues to incur costs due to the misuse and flagrant disregard for Glenmore’s Common Areas and Properties. This includes sports field and equipment, roadway signage and street right of ways. Please care for these items and areas as if they were your own, for indeed, they are!

Of particular concern:

  • Parking on the grass. If you have visitors/contractors/vendors parking on the grass, ask them to move their vehicles. All four wheels should be on the roadway.
  • Sports field and equipment. After using the sports field and/or equipment be sure to return it as you found it and pick up any personal debris.
  • And of course, pick up after your pet and make use of the Doggie Poop receptacles throughout the community.

Please follow the rules. It will save you in the long run!

Our Community is governed by Covenants and Restrictions (C&Rs) and supporting guidelines and regulations.  Unfortunately, we continue to see property modifications made without appropriate review and approval.

In the case of GCA C&Rs – It is NOT easier to ask forgiveness, than to get permission. Failure to seek approval in advance of modification to your property (structurally and/or landscaping wise) may result in significant cost to you! Modifications to Common Area adjacent to your property ARE NOT PERMITTED. This includes removal or planting trees and other plants. As you plan modify your property, please reach out to Associa. They will guide you through the approval processes

And when unanticipated events happen, before taking action reach out to Associa or the Board, ARC or CARB representative, who are very responsive to emergencies.

Reporting Water Quality Issues

Albemarle County Service Authority has informed us that the UDF project - 'flushing project' - was completed on Friday, Jan 20th. Each resident that previously communicated with the Authority reporting sediment issues will be contacted by ACSA representative, Tim Brown.

ACSA reports that 28 residents have reported problems, but cannot share the names of Glenmore residents who have made contact with the GCA. However, the GCA would like to know who you are so that we can follow-up with impacted residents as well as the the Authority.

Fred Kopf, is the GCA's point person on this issue and is in touch with the ACSA. If you have contacted the ACSA regarding this issue please send an email to Fred Kopf at Kfbk80@gmail.com so he can track the outcome of this fix.

Good News, Bad News - Safety Update

Good news. Our posts in News & Notes appear to have increased the awareness of excessive speed within our community and contributed to a reduction in number of vehicles speeding...

Bad news. We are still experiencing vehicles operating at speeds that compromise the safety of our residents, guests and visitors.

Next steps. As we further our efforts to ensure the roadway safety of our community we will be implementing additional passive measures by sending letters to those individuals we record in violation of our posted speed limit.

Please slow down, the seconds you save are not worth the cost.
