GCA Board of Directors Meeting - July 20, 2023

After calling the meeting to order at 5:05 pm and welcoming residents in attendance, President Greg Pagonakis reordered the meeting agenda so that New Business: Dismissal of Gatehouse Staff and time for member comment were placed at the top of the agenda. As promised, The Board heard from every person who wanted to speak. Residents voiced their deep concern and dissatisfaction over the termination of Charlotte and Theresa. After more than two hours of resident comment, President Pagonakis closed the comment session. Following a short break, the Board entered Executive Session for the purpose of discussing "contractual and personnel matters".

The Board ended Executive Session and returned to Open Session at 9:10 p.m. Regarding the gatehouse staff issue, Diana Ferguson made a motion that "the Board compose a communication to the membership as soon as practical after doing its due diligence to address the concerns raised by those present at the Board meeting speaking on behalf of the gate guards that were terminated by Securitas." The motion was seconded by Saul Kerpelman and approved unanimously. The Board adjourned at 9:14 p.m.

Mindful of its responsibility to the entire community, the Board will continue, as stated above, to act with due diligence and provide further communication to the membership regarding this matter.

New Trail Maps

An updated trail map and index has been posted to on the GCA website. Click on Trail and Directions to download and print. Thank you, John Crawford.

Pendower, Bluebird and other new trails will be blazed/marked in the near future. Enjoy!

Sports Fields, Common Areas & Walking Paths

The Sports Field is a favorite place for Glenmore families. Community members are assisting in field maintenance by marking the field for soccer, and installing a new volleyball net. A badminton net is on order.

Please make use of the equipment as intended. Recently, the volleyball disappeared. It later reappeared, damaged and unusable. Please bring your own volleyball and take it home with you when you are finished playing. In addition the corn hole bags have walked off. Please check your equipment bag and return the corn hole bags to the Gatehouse.

And remember the sports field is for people, not dogs. The dog park is adjacent to the sports field. Please use it for exercising your dog and make use of the doggie-do stations at the sports field and throughout the community.

Homeowners with a paved walking path in front of your house. Please trim branches that overhang the walking paths so that people over 6 feet tall can walk comfortably under the trees.

Finally, common areas continue to be used as a dumping ground for yard waste and branches. Remind your yard maintenance crew to carry this debris away or break up and bag twigs and small branches, bag your excess yard waste and place in your garbage totter. Thanks.
