🔍COMPLIANCE SPOTLIGHT🔍
Ireland Compliance Updates - Identification Requirements
The Irish Companies Registration Office (CRO) has updated its Verification of Identity Form (VIF), which is required for directors and ultimate beneficial owners of Irish companies who do not hold a PPSN, RBO number, or Identified Person Number (IPN).
Any new VIF submissions made on or after 2 January must use the revised form. The updated requirements introduce additional information and documentation, including mandatory email addresses for both the individual being verified and the witness or notary, enhanced identity document verification, and new witnessing standards. In some cases, online witnessing may now be permitted where a Notary Public in Ireland is involved.
If you are appointing new directors, adding beneficial owners, or forming an Irish entity, these changes may impact your filing timeline. ACE Global can guide you through the updated requirements and coordinate compliant submissions on your behalf. Please contact your ACE Global representative for assistance.
United Kingdom - Persons with Significant Control (PSC) Verification NOW REQUIRED
Companies House now requires identity verification for all directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSC) as part of the formation process and for all existing companies. Verification must be completed before the filing deadline for existing entities to avoid penalties, and/or administrative strike-off.
PSC generally includes individuals with more than 25% ownership or control, directors, and others with similar decision-making authority. Compliance is not one-size-fits-all. Our UK partner is an Authorized Corporate Service Provider trusted to deliver a streamlined, fully supported identity verification process, ensuring your entity satisfies UK requirements with confidence!
