NEW English Conversation Class

Join our fun English Conversation class every Tuesday, 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, at the Family Literacy Center! The next one is this Tuesday, February 20th. We will be focusing on speaking and listening skills to boost confidence. Perfect for all levels. Everyone's welcome!

The Family Literacy Center is located at 311 Higgins Street, in Lapeer.

Congratulations to Heather!

She is the first GED Grad of 2024!

Heather was a Family Literacy Center student at the GST MI Works! office in Huron County in 2021. She worked full-time while raising her children, taking phlebotomy and medical assistant classes, and attending tutoring to prepare for her GED tests.

By earning her GED, Heather will receive a raise and be able to move forward in getting certified as a radiology technician. We are so proud of you. Way to go, Heather!

So far in 2024, YOU have helped 9 students achieve their GED this year with your support. Thank you!

NEW! Ready to Read Program

Join us for our Ready to Read program for 3-5-year-olds and their caregivers. Enjoy fun activities, storytime, and hands-on games to boost young readers' skills. Adults get practical tips for supporting reading at home, and each child takes home a free book to keep the reading fun going.

Sessions are located at Marguerite deAngeli Library, 921 W. Nepessing Street, Lapeer.
