Zentangle Phi Tiles
Introducing the newest member of the Zentangle tile family!

We designed this 12.7 cm x 7.8486 cm rectangular tile to Phi proportions. Phi, also known as the "Golden Ratio" or "Divine Proportion," is a beautiful relationship often found in patterns, nature, art, music, architecture, and more. The Golden Ratio has been studied for thousands of years and is associated with the Fibonacci sequence of numbers.

Rick and Maria, founders of the Zentangle Method, both loved to study these proportions and discover examples of it in the world around them. When it became clear that we wanted to create a mid-sized rectangular work surface, we knew that it had to pay homage to this part of the Zentangle history.

The possibilities of tangled masterpieces that can be created on this tile are endless and yet to be discovered. We are excited about how this rectangle can potentially be used. Tangled decks, creative and interesting mosaics, and repeat tiling projects are just the beginning.
Zentangle Phi Tiles are die cut from 100% cotton paper and are archival. They are available in White, Black, Renaissance, and Gray.

It has become an annual Zentangle tradition for us to celebrate the holiday season with a series we call The 12 Days of Zentangle. 

For twelve consecutive days, we deliver daily tangling lessons and guide you through the steps to create festive tangled art that are all part of the same theme.

In times like these each of us has a unique opportunity to respond beautifully and creatively. As you pay attention to the next beautiful stroke you can contribute to this world, you can find respite from the fears and worries that seek that same attention for themselves.

In your Zentangle practice we encourage you to embrace the unexpected, the unknown and the uncertain as a part of your creative process. We say this because it can inspire a creative response that otherwise you never would have known. These are all opportunities to shift your perspective and discover new patterns.
