Stacy Petriuk, KC, was elected as the incoming President-Elect at the Nov. 28 Board meeting. She will join Ryan D. Anderson, KC, who will take over as President from Deanna Steblyk, KC, on Feb. 27, 2025 for the 2025–26 term.

2025–26 Executive Committee

The 2025–26 Executive Committee will begin their work on Feb. 27, 2025. The committee will consist of Ryan D. Anderson, KC (President), Stacy Petriuk, KC (President-Elect), Kene Ilochonwu, KC, Jim Lutz, KC, Bud Melnyk, KC, Sandra Petersson, KC, Levonne Louie and Deanna Steblyk, KC (Past-President).

Th practice fee for 2025 is unchanged and is $2,640 per active lawyer and the part-time membership fee at $1,320.

Payment Options

Invoices for 2025 practice fees will become available in February 2025. Lawyers can pay their fee in one payment or in two instalments. This gives lawyers more flexibility around fee payment if they want to spread their financial obligations through the year rather than paying one lump sum.

If lawyers opt to make instalment payments, the first payment is due on or before March 15, 2025, with the second payment due by Sept. 15, 2025. There will be an additional $50 administrative charge included in the first instalment for lawyers who opt to pay their fees in instalments. 

Lawyers who pay the fee in one lump sum must do so by March 15, 2025.

2024 Holiday Sittings

The Court of King’s Bench will be on a holiday sitting schedule from Dec. 23, 2024, to Jan. 3, 2025, inclusive. Justices will be available to hear urgent matters, emergency protection order reviews and bail reviews in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge on Dec. 23, 2024 and Jan. 2 and 3, 2025.
