Construction Close Up

A significant amount of bridge work has been completed this year, and bridge construction will continue through the tail-end of 2024 and into early 2025. Blue Valley Parkway bridge work is clearly visible from the roadway now. Crews are working on the decking for the final bridge in the Blue Valley Parkway interchange.

119th Street has reopened to drivers and work continues along sidewalks and in the median in some areas through December 2024. Neighborhoods at 139th Street and 143rd Street may have seen sod crews out in the past few weeks. Work in these areas is nearly finished. The contractor will water the sod until it is established.

Behind The Scenes

New bridges on U.S. 69 above College Boulevard are nearly complete

The aerial photo above shows bridge work on U.S. 69 above College Blvd. The recent overnight closure of College for bridge work allowed crews to remove the old U.S. 69 southbound bridge (pictured below).

The old U.S. 69 southbound bridge over College is no more.
