As September rolls in, drivers should be aware of increased construction activity at the I-435 and U.S. 69 interchange. Starting the first week of September, both the westbound I-435 to southbound U.S. 69 ramp and northbound U.S. 69 to westbound I-435 ramp will be fully closed overnights through September 20.
During this closure, the following detours will be marked:
Northbound U.S. 69 to westbound I-435:
- Continue north on U.S. 69 and exit at 103rd Street
- Turn right on 103rd Street and take the ramp to southbound U.S. 69
- Follow signs to westbound I-435
Westbound I-435 Traffic to southbound U.S. 69:
- Follow I-435 to the northbound U.S. 69 on ramp
- Take northbound U.S. 69 to 103rd Street and exit
- Turn right on 103rd Street and take the ramp to southbound U.S. 69
Additionally, drivers should anticipate daytime and nighttime lane reductions along I-435 in both the eastbound and westbound directions from Antioch Road to Quivira Road. These closures are necessary so crews can safely complete new bridge construction at this location. As always, we encourage drivers to be alert and mindful of construction workers when traveling through the project. Please note that all work is weather impacted and subject to change.
More details on these and other closures throughout the project are available on the 69Express project website. For regular construction updates please monitor the project Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) pages, subscribe to the project newsletter or sign up to receive text alerts.
