ADVOCATE FOR SOUTH SOUND JOBS

Join the Chamber in advocating for jobs in our industrial and maritime community at the LNG Hearing  Tuesday October 30th, 2:00-5:00pm and 6:30-10pm at the Rialto Theater.

We need your voice to talk about the benefits   of LNG.

If you cannot attend, please contact Puget Sound Clean Air Agency by November 21st and share your thoughts. Talking points are:

  • Environmental benefits of the conversion to LNG for both local and global air quality include 99% reduction in particulate matter, 90% reduction in nitrogen oxides, and 13.5% reduction in greenhouse gases as cited in the Draft SEIS

  • Non-approval of the air permit would lead to increased dependence on diesel bunker fuel, which sends high levels of particulate and sulfur into our local air quality

  • We need to keep our Puget Sound ports competitive since ports around the world are building LNG facilities and the maritime industry is converting to LNG as the best available fuel to power their ships
