National centre for family and whānau violence research and information
Pānui | Newsletter - Issue 103 - June 2021
Kia ora!

Consultation on the national strategy and action plans to eliminate family and sexual violence comes to a close on Wednesday 30th of June. There is still time to have your say, you can find information about how to do this at https://violencefree.govt.nz/have-your-say/.

This month we are highlighting new research findings from the 2019 New Zealand Family Violence Study drawing attention to the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on people’s lives. In particular, the research shows that exposure to ACEs increases the likelihood that people will experience violence as adults.

Finally, it is Matariki, a time for learning and reflection and a time for remembering those who have passed.

We hope you are all keeping warm and safe,
