April 5, 2022
Hello Future Ospreys,

We're excited to welcome your students to the Nest in fall 2022! As you know, we are currently building our permanent home on the Fort Lewis College campus, with projected completion of construction in mid-October. If all goes according to plan (fingers crossed!) we should be moved from our current location into the new building by the start of second semester of the 22/23 school year. This is a dream come true for our school and we're excited that your family will be part of our future at this historic moment!

The new building is really beginning to take shape and we're inviting folks to the construction site for "Elevated Nest Tours" this month. Join us on any of the following Fridays to learn more about our future home:

  • April 8 @ 1 pm
  • April 15 @ 9 am
  • April 22 @ 1 pm
  • April 29 @ 9 am

Let us know you’re coming by completing this quick RSVP form--or just show up in sturdy, closed-toed shoes for a guided tour through the building (we will supply the hard hats!). Parking available on site--look for volunteers directing you on Talon Lane on the Fort Lewis College campus.

Funding for our new campus has come primarily from the Colorado Department of Education's BEST Grant, alongside generous donations from foundations and individual donors. Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you'd like to learn more about business sponsorship opportunities or our donor wall.

We'd also love to encourage you to mark your calendar now for AHS All School Exhibition, Thursday May 19 from 4-7pm. Students from all grades will exhibit projects across all disciplines and attending this celebratory festival of learning will give you a great chance to experience what drives our program--using project-based learning to prepare our students for career, college and life. We hope you'll join us!

We will stay in touch as other opportunities to connect with our school community arise this spring and summer. For example, Student Council is thinking about hosting a Friday late afternoon picnic in the park and they'd love to include incoming students. it's important to us that you and your student feel welcome and included, staring right away as we believe strong, supportive relationships are foundational to learning and growth.

As always, please reach out to me if you have questions, whether about the fall registration process, the new campus or anything else. We are here to help and we are looking forward to working with your family!

Best,
Libby
