Shop Local, Shop Newton

If you live in Newton, why shop anywhere else for Easter & Passover? We're blessed with an abundance of stellar bakeries, award-winning chocolatiers and florists, and some of the sweetest little retail shops imaginable. (Have you been to The Paper Mouse, Hedgehog Belly Designs, Greentail Table or Newtonville Books?)

Here are some great local shopping options by village. And no, it's not an exhaustive list--we're just highlighting a handful of indie shops for the upcoming holidays while we get the ALL Over Newton site ready to be your one-stop small business shopping resource in Newton. There are lots of other small businesses (including restaurants) sprinkled all over Newton, and each one welcomes your business! Amazon, Walmart, and the other big box stores can never, ever, provide the level of customer service and the shopping experience you'll find when you step inside a local shop!

Newton's TV-Star Chefs

Fernanda Tapia now works with people all over the greater Boston area creating events, dinner parties, and cooking classes. Keep your eyes open for her new website, launching soon!

Do you know how many chefs with Newton ties have been featured on reality cooking shows? By our count it's four: John Hanlon of Olivia's Bistro appeared on Chopped (The Food Network); Fernanda Tapia, the former owner of Comedor, and now running her own personal chef business, was also on Chopped--twice. Newton resident and former Newton South music teacher Jason Wang is an alum of MasterChef (Fox); and Chef Thiago Silva, owner of the soon-to-open SALT Patisserie, was recently a contestant on Netflix's School of Chocolate.
