December 2024

Project Update

On December 19, 2024, representatives of Aloha Halawa District Partners (AHDP) presented preliminary concepts to the Aloha Stadium Authority at the December 2024 Stadium Authority Board meeting. Click here to view the latest concepts from AHDP.

The state selected a single preferred offeror (AHDP) in October 2024, who immediately began working together with the state to resolve a range of technical and other matters and execute the relevant agreements by June 2025. The opening of the new Aloha Stadium is projected in time for the 2028 University of Hawai‘i football season.

The NASED procurement process remains active. Further details of AHDP’s proposal will be made public through community outreach activities that will be conducted during the diligence and discussion phase.

Businesses or organizations that would like to register their interest with AHDP, the preferred offeror, may submit their contact information on the “Doing Business” page on the project website: https://nased.hawaii.gov/doing-business/

FAQs

Q: How will the surrounding district be developed in line with the new Aloha Stadium?

A: The state expects that there will be an initial tranche (phase) of development completed in line with the opening of the new Aloha Stadium. As part of its RFP response, AHDP proposed a conceptual site plan depicting a variety of uses, such as residential, retail, hotels and an entertainment zone. The conceptual site plan also includes preliminary ideas for site circulation and access that will enable successful integration with the new Aloha Stadium, including pedestrian connection with the new Skyline station. This conceptual site plan will form the basis of community engagement sessions that will commence in early 2025.

'Aiea Community Christmas Parade and Family Fun Fair

The 'Aiea Christmas Parade and Family Fun Fair, held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, was a festive celebration that brought the community together in holiday spirit. Following the lively parade, attendees enjoyed a variety of holiday treats from local food trucks, unique crafts from local vendors, fun games for the keiki, and a donation station benefiting the Blood Bank of Hawaii.

The Aloha Stadium Entertainment District (NASED) team and AHDP joined in the festivities and spread holiday cheer to all those who stopped by our booth to ask questions about the NASED project, spin the wheel for Christmas goodies and prizes, enter our drawing for Aloha Stadium memorabilia and gift cards to local eateries, and create a holiday craft or two throughout the event.

Sponsored by the 'Aiea Community Association, this heartwarming event filled the day with joy and community camaraderie.
