Welcoming a New Year at Aloha Stadium

As we welcome a new year, I want to extend my gratitude to our community, partners, and stakeholders who continue to walk alongside us as we move forward with the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District (NASED) project. This moment marks both reflection and momentum as we honor Hawaiʻi’s culture while building for Hawaiʻi’s future.

We are pleased to share that active on-site work is now underway. Dismantling of the existing Aloha Stadium has officially begun, with perimeter dust screen fencing installed and early preparation activities in progress. These initial steps represent an important milestone as we carefully and responsibly transition the site toward its next chapter.

In addition, the Stadium Authority District Offices will soon be relocating to a new site within the district, allowing our team to continue operations while remaining connected to the heart of this historic place. This move, alongside the successful relocation of the Swap Meet to its temporary home, reflects the coordinated effort and collaboration taking place across the district.

Throughout this process, we remain committed to working as one team, in partnership with our community, to minimize impacts and keep the public informed. Together, we are moving forward with purpose—celebrating the legacy of Aloha Stadium, honoring the values of our culture, and shaping a district that will serve generations to come.

One Team. One Community. Moving Forward Together.

Aloha From AHDP

Aloha mai kākou,

On behalf of all of us at Aloha Hālawa District Partners, it is truly an honor for our team to have work underway and begin delivering the vision we all hold for the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District.

Through your feedback and the coordinated leadership of our partners at the State and City, we have experienced the excitement our community shares for the future of the neighborhood—and the solutions-oriented mindset that will continue to serve the success of this project.

We have a number of milestones ahead, but we’ve already achieved a significant one with the start of demolition, and we have so enjoyed each opportunity to see and speak with you at events like the ʻAiea Christmas Fair and the “Aloha to Aloha Stadium” celebration this past year.

In the months ahead, we look forward to providing you updates in this monthly NASED newsletter, as well as at community meetings and conversations where we’ll share plans and designs.

Most importantly, we are committed to building Hawaiʻi a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue that local families can enjoy for generations and that celebrates the art, culture, and way of life that’s authentic to our islands.

With anticipation for all that is ahead,

Aloha Hālawa District Partners

Aloha Stadium, mahalo for giving us a place to dream.

What's Going on at Aloha Stadium

Snap the Moment:

Experience Aloha Stadium

After six months of collaboration and creativity, the Walls of Legacy: Aloha Stadium Sculpture Challenge has reached an exciting milestone. The completed art piece has officially been delivered to its new home at the Swap Meet & Marketplace, where it now stands as a bold new photo-worthy landmark.

Crafted from reclaimed metal frames from the original Aloha Stadium seats, the sculpture has been transformed into a striking metal pineapple standing over six feet tall and weighing more than 800 pounds. Each element preserves a physical piece of the stadium’s history—reimagined through art as Aloha Stadium enters its next chapter.

Visitors are invited to stop by, snap a photo, and share their experience on social media using #ExperienceAlohaStadium as we celebrate this one-of-a-kind tribute together.

And this is just the beginning. Guests can look forward to even more interactive photo-op experiences throughout the Marketplace—from mauka to makai art renderings to “catching a wave” moments at our new wave booth.

It’s all part of creating memorable experiences that honor the past, celebrate Hawaiʻi’s culture, and bring the community together in new and exciting ways.

In the Community

On Sunday, January 18, the Hālawa Skyline Station welcomed more than 400 guests for the release of limited-edition Aloha Stadium HOLO Cards. All cards were claimed within 45 minutes—an enthusiastic response from riders and longtime stadium fans alike. The morning also supported community and literacy efforts, with many attendees donating books as part of the event.

Guests had the opportunity to purchase official stadium seat backs during the last chance memorabilia sale, taking home a piece of the stadium’s history as redevelopment moves forward.

Across the district, the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet & Marketplace hosted a Fukubukuro (lucky bag) event with participating vendors. The seasonal tradition brought added excitement to weekend shopping and generated steady foot traffic throughout the day.

Together, the Skyline and Swap Meet events showcased strong community engagement—celebrating Aloha Stadium’s legacy while looking ahead to its next chapter.
