As part of the ongoing efforts for the NASED market sounding, the NASED project team issued a second public request for information (RFI-2) on Nov. 1, seeking feedback from prospective offerors to help refine the procurement process.
The RFI-2 included several questions relating to the findings of the previously published Market Sounding Report and a fully developed “conceptual” Request for Proposals (RFP). The conceptual RFP has been shared to seek market feedback on the proposed process as it is much more efficient to amend the RFP now, rather than once the formal process has commenced. It’s important to note that the conceptual RFP is just that – a concept. It highlights key elements of the proposed procurement process and is intended to spark discussion and feedback.
Several responses to the RFI-2 were received prior to the deadline on Nov. 15 and the NASED project team met with respondents to work through some further details.
This generally concludes the market sounding process. Such an intensive market sounding and engagement process is somewhat atypical for projects like NASED, but given the complexity of the project, this process has proven to be absolutely warranted. It has delivered upon its objectives and improved the procurement process and the RFP itself.
