We’re excited to report that NASED has achieved another major milestone this month. On October 31, 2024, the state Department of Accounting & General Services (DAGS) announced the approval of Aloha Halawa District Partners (AHDP) as the preferred offeror. This marks the conclusion of the proposals phase and commencement of an eight-month diligence and discussion phase.
The initial plan for the Request for Proposals was to select a preferred offeror by the end of September 2024. However, to ensure the integrity of the procurement process and that there is a strong foundation for the diligence and discussion phase, the state extended this deadline to late October 2024. Given the detailed nature of the project, it was essential that a vigorous and thorough review of the proposal was conducted to ensure the best value for the state.
Over the following eight (8) months’ diligence and discussion phase the state and AHDP will resolve a range of technical and other matters and execute the relevant agreements by June 2025. The opening of the new Aloha Stadium is projected in time for the 2028 University of Hawai‘i football season.
The NASED procurement process remains an active procurement process. Further details of AHDP’s proposal will be made public through community outreach activities that will be conducted during the diligence and discussion phase.
