Project Update

August and September have been productive and exciting months for NASED. At a special Stadium Authority Board Meeting, on August 13, the Stadium Authority authorized the Interim Stadium Manager to execute two (2) agreements for the NASED project: the Stadium Development and Operation Agreement and the Initial Ground Lease to support the NASED project.

Marking a major milestone for the project, the NASED project team is very pleased to announce today, the execution of these first two agreements with Aloha Hālawa District Partners (AHDP). These agreements officially authorize dismantling of the existing stadium and the start of construction on the new, modern facility.

In other exciting news, on August 21, 2025, the City and County of Honolulu issued the necessary permits for AHDP to undertake the dismantling of the existing Aloha Stadium.

Additional agreements are still being finalized but are not necessary to begin dismantling of the existing stadium which is expected to begin shortly.

In July, we announced that Bobby Trice of Bobby Trice Art was selected as the winning artist for the Walls of Legacy: Aloha Stadium Sculpture Challenge. Bobby has now begun the process of bringing his concept to life — using salvaged pieces of the original stadium seats and frames to create a visually striking, photo-worthy sculpture. While we don't want to give away too many details just yet, you can follow us on Instagram at @alohastadiumhi and click here for some hints and exclusive sneak peeks of his progress.

Memories at Aloha Stadium

This Month’s Look Back

As the roar of the crowd returns for another football season, it's a perfect time to reflect on the lasting legacy of the University of Hawaiʻi Football Rainbow Warriors. For 46 years, the stadium served as the backdrop for countless memorable moments that shaped the program's history. Fans packed the stands to witness the Rainbow Warriors' greatest triumphs, from the excitement of the "June Jones era" and the record-setting 2007 undefeated regular season that led to a Sugar Bowl appearance, to hard-fought conference championships and classic rivalry games that inspired the entire community. The echoes of those thrilling Saturday nights at Aloha Stadium will forever be a cherished part of Hawaiʻi's football story. GO BOWS!

Community Voices: The Next Generation's Vision for Aloha Stadium

With the next generation of keiki set to be the ones playing, performing, and cheering in the new Aloha Stadium, we asked them: "If you could design the new Aloha Stadium, what special features or fun activities would you include to make it the coolest place in Hawai'i?"

Gabriel - age 11, Favorite sport: football

It would be really cool to have football simulators and other sports simulators for VR play. It would also be cool to have NFL combine stations with pads and ladders and quarterback targets. Have a way for me to connect my tablet so I can watch the games from whatever camera view I want to watch the game from. Oh and a charging port at my seat for my tablet!

A'Brianna - age 11, Favorite sport: volleyball

I would have karaoke booths where you and your friends can go and sing a song and record and people outside the booth can see it, like a performance. I would also have photo booths, where you can take pictures and then decorate them on the outside and print them out. I would also have good food and a shave ice bar where I can pick my own flavors and build my own shave ice cup.
