New AndyMark Robot Signal Light

We already knew this, but FIRST teams are the best. We're waiting for a few more purchase orders to come in before we announce an official number, but we will be writing a five-figure check to the FIRST in Texas Harvey Fund after our fundraiser event last week. Incredible stuff!

We'll go ahead and say it: no, this is not the Robot Signal Light specified by R70 of the 2017 FIRST Robotics Competition manual. But it is a robot signal light, one that's a fraction of the price of the official one. When you're doing demo or practice robots, we bet ours is usually good enough for the purpose.

Use spade connectors or solder on some leads (we like our 2-wire cable), connect it to the RSL port on your roboRIO, and you'll be blinking like a champ. We hope you find the news of this product release illuminating.

Shrink Tube Solder Makes Connections Easy

Since we're talking about electrical components, let's talk about our shrink tube solder. Each of these connectors contains the perfect mixture of solder, heat shrink, and an adhesive to form durable electrical connections without crimping or any tools beyond a heat gun. The process is pretty quick, too-- even our how-to video is 2 minutes and 16 seconds, and that was with us going slow to show you all the steps!
