Italy Independent School District saves over $144,000!

Italy ISD's Civil Air Patrol squadron took the MKT field kitchen trailer that they acquired from FSP in September 2020 to Camp Bullis for the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Summer Encampment in July 2021. They fed over 200 cadets and senior members 3 hot meals a day for a week.

FSP staff member Jacob Moore had a chance to talk with cadets and senior members about the importance of the MKT trailer for this encampment. All said the MKT trailer was a game changer and vital part of making the encampment successful. Jacob reported that one of the Italy ISD cadets fabricated the railings you see around the trailer attached to the roof supports, to make the trailer safer to operate.

Italy ISD paid a service charge of $750 for the MKT kitchen trailer which had an original government acquisition cost of $145,000. That is a savings of $144,250 compared to buying new!
